Travel Advice

Vaccination for travel purposes is not a core medical service that practices are required to provide. In our practice we will provide an initial assessment of your travel vaccination requirements and, if required, vaccines which are available on the NHS which include Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A and Typhoid. For vaccinations not available on the NHS including Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis and Malaria, we recommend you contact a travel vaccination clunic such as Boots Travel clinic (Newry), or the Lisburn Travel clinic. For information purposes please be aware that you will be charged for non NHS vaccinations and these can be expensive but may be necessary depending on your destination.  If you wish to find out information about vaccines for your destination you can visit  http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/,  please ensue you request your vaccinations in time.

If the country you are visiting is in a malaria risk area, the appropriate prophylaxis may vary from one part of the country to another so do not assume the advice given will be appropriate if you vary your travel itinerary.
